The carousel was created from an old dead IBM486. I started with the 44mb hard drive and turned it into the base. I then took apart a CD-Rom drive and hard wired the door motor to a rheostat, a switch, and a battery compartment. After gutting the harddrive, I mounted the cd-rom door motor into the harddrive with the pulley wheel butted up against the platters to drive it. I then took the remains of a dead solar power light from my yard and used the shaft and cap for the top. Next, I cut out the horses from the motherboard. Each horse is 2 different horses cut out that are then put together to give the appearance of one horse galloping. I then attached them to silver and gold wire that I twisted to fashion the poles and mounted the poles to the platters. The top of the carousel is made from leftover parts as well as various generators from the harddrive and cd-rom. The flags are made from the slides out of the cd-rom with cut up pieces from the hard drive ribbon.
